· Mohonk Preserve ·
I had the pleasure a few days ago of running off with a few friends away from New York City and into the peaceful outdoors. How refreshing it is to breathe air, feel the sun kiss your shoulders and explore someplace new! We climbed to the Sky Top Tower at Mohonk Preserve, and boy was the view exceedingly worth it as we climbed. Undoubtedly the best part of the trip was spontaneously taking our own course, climbing over rocks rather than taking a walking trail. It was one of those days that you couldn’t help beaming about how thankful you were to be alive, and it definitely was a big helping of adventure.
Below is a collection of photos from the hike and my favorite quotes to inspire wanderlust, so come along!
“I was born very far from where I’m supposed to be, and so I’m on my way home”
-Bob Dylan
“I would rather own little and see the world, than own the world and see little of it”
-Alexander Sattler
“Travel far enough, you meet yourself”
-David Mitchell
“My soul is from elsewhere, I’m sure of that, and I intend to end up there”
-Rumi
“Jobs fill your pocket, adventures fill your soul”
-Jaime Lyn Beatty
“Traveling leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller”
-Ibn Battuta
Sky Top Tower
“The best view comes after the hardest climb”
-Unknown
“He said, ‘Above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it'”
-Roald Dahl
Here’s to the next great adventure, whatever it may be! 🙂
