New York, NY | Best Cocktails with my BFF

Sunday fun day has met its match! Yesterday, my best friend Rachel from All Things Blush and I wandered around our beloved NYC to find the best cocktails the city had to offer! We were excited to be featured by The Blog Bar as we sipped our way through the city, and below we share the ones we can’t live without!

1. Best Bloody Mary

Maison Premiere

Nestled in Williamsburg lies an oyster-filled oasis. Hidden behind an unmarked door, Maison Premiere is a breath of fresh air from the city’s hustle. It’s atmosphere is inspired by cafes of days past with a hint of New Orleans flare. This year they also won the James Beard Outstanding Bar Program, and provided the perfect brunch spot for the start of our day.

What initially drew us to the Maison Bloody Ceaser was its additives. Set on a plate of crushed ice with oyster and shrimp cocktail, the garnish fetish in our hearts was happily met. Taking a sip we were delighted that this Mary wasn’t all for show. The mix is a perfect blend of fresh ingredients, with a bold spice that doesn’t overstay it’s welcome. We’ve both had our fair share of Bloody Marys, and can easily say this one tops our list!

2. Best To Share

Sugar Factory American Brasserie

Sugar Factory was a stand out from the very beginning for shareable cocktails. With 3 locations in Manhattan (and a few elsewhere), this spot is your golden ticket to a sugar high. This location in Meatpacking District is adorned with chandeliers, and offers American fare to satisfy any craving. They were also awarded with OpenTable‘s Diner’s Choice award in 2016, and are ready to be your sweet tooth’s best friend.

They offer 60 oz goblets (like the one pictured above) in a variety of yummy flavors. We chose the signature Lollipop Passion, and were absolutely giddy when the drink was poured over dry ice to create a fun presentation. This candy land of a cocktail was filled with gummy candies, rainbow lollipops and even a candy necklace for the ride home! With a perfect blend of sweetness and fun, this goblet is perfect compliment for two straws.

3. Best Presentation

RedFarm

Sensibility meets innovation at our choice for a cocktail with the best presentation. RedFarm features unique Chinese cuisine, and is shooting to be “one of the most exciting and influential restaurants in the country.” They infuse greenmarket sensibility with creativity for an unforgettable dining experience. With modern spins on traditional dishes, you find a vibrant compilation that will have you reaching over to your friend’s plate too!

The Garden to Glass cocktail is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. Fitting to its name, the presentation showcases the different herbs and flavors that go into its creation. Sip from a champagne flute the flor de cana rum with and notable zest of lemon and ginger. The drink serves two, and provides it’s own occasion when you’re looking for a refreshing sip!

4. Best Cosmopolitan [Sort Of]

VAPIANO

In the spirit of upmost honesty, we found a speed bump in our NYC cocktail adventure. We searched for a cosmopolitan that lived up to every girl’s Sex in the City dream, but the spot we chose was closed on Sunday.

Determined to find a rival, we quickly rerouted our way to Union Square. There we found VAPIANO, an internationally inspired restaurant for drinks and eats. With locations all over the world, these spaces are a place where people can combine and share what they love about their different cultures.

The ambiance of the restaurant was intriguing and community inducing. Taking our seats at the bar, we found a night cap in the white pomegranate cosmo. This cocktail offered a refreshing twist on the common cosmopolitan, and provided a soothing end to our evening. Although things didn’t go as planned (which is so often the case), we still were able to find a cosmo that would make Carrie Bradshaw proud!
